What does a life coach actually do?

A life coach helps you get clear on what you want, understand what’s holding you back and take consistent action towards change. Rather than focusing on the past, coaching is forward-focused and practical. It gives you the tools, perspective and accountability to move your life in the direction you actually want.

How do I know if I need a life coach?

If something needs to change but you don’t know how

If you feel stuck, unsure what you want or caught in patterns you can’t seem to shift on your own, coaching can help. Many people reach out when they know something needs to change, but don’t know where to start. You don’t need to have it all figured out, just a willingness to explore and move forward.

In coaching, NLP is used to shift mindset, build confidence and create more useful ways of thinking and responding.

What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?

Coaching focuses on the present and future, not the past

Therapy often focuses on understanding and healing the past, particularly around emotional or psychological issues. Life coaching is more focused on the present and future - where you are now, where you want to be and how to get there. It’s practical, action-oriented and designed to help you move forward.

How quickly will I see results from coaching?

Clarity often comes quickly; lasting change builds over time

This depends on what you are working on and how ready you are to take action. Many people notice shifts in clarity and thinking quite quickly, often within the first few sessions. Lasting change comes from applying what you learn consistently, which is where coaching support and accountability make a real difference. You do have to ‘do the work’ yourself in between sessions; the magic wand requires your input too.

Is online life coaching effective?

Yes, flexibility and consistency often make it even more powerful

Online coaching is just as effective as in-person coaching, and often more flexible. What matters most is the quality of our conversation, not the format. Many clients find they open up more easily in their own space and are better able to integrate the work into their daily life.

You can expect greater clarity, increased confidence and a stronger sense of direction. Many people also experience less overthinking, more consistent action and a shift in how they approach challenges. Do I need to know what I want before starting coaching?

This is more common question than you might think. A big part of coaching is helping you figure out what you want and what matters to you. You don’t need a clear plan to begin, just a sense that something isn’t quite right and a willingness to explore what could be different.
